D.H. Renfroe is a Metro-Atlanta native and indie Black romance author who writes love stories that feel like reverence. A reader first, she has had a passion for fiction and storytelling since she was a little girl—long before she ever imagined publishing books of her own.
Her work centers emotionally rich, sensual romance where Black women are fully seen, deeply desired, and cherished without condition. Best known for her interconnected contemporary romance universe, including Creative Differences, Sky High, and Masterpiece in Progress, D.H. blends intimacy, vulnerability, and grown-folk passion with characters navigating love, grief, ambition, and healing.
Beyond the page, D.H. is one-sixth of the award-winning bookish podcast The Lit Library, where she helps foster thoughtful, joyful conversations about Black books, authors, and community. When she isn’t writing or reading, she’s a proud soccer mom and an avid lover of whodunit mysteries—always chasing the truth, whether it’s on the page or on the screen.
Her intention as a writer is simple: that readers leave her stories feeling satiated, softened, and wrapped in love.

After six months apart, Zaria Jameson swears she’s finally over Lennox Mercer, the man who shattered her heart. Then, at 1:23 a.m., his name lights up her phone. One reckless message blurs every boundary she built.

Hosting their first Christmas should bring Mackenzie and Jackson closer, but fame, new parenthood, and growing distance have made their marriage more fragile than either expected. Between missed moments and unspoken fears, the holiday season forces them to confront what they have been avoiding.
Planning a wedding party is easy—if Nina Scott can manage to stay out of Angelou Porter’s bed.
Nina has built her career managing other people’s reputations. Guarded, confident, and determined, she doesn’t have time for love—especially not with a man like Angelou, whose tattoos, swagger, and smooth charm hide grief he hasn’t quite learned how to...
If you’ve been here before, you may have noticed it’s been a while since my last blog update. November came in fast and full, and like many creative seasons, it pulled me deeper into the work rather than the documenting of it.
Since then, a lot has been unfolding behind the scenes. New releases, new opportunities, community moments that reminded me why I do this in the first place, and plenty of real life layered in between. Writing, reading, podcasting, motherhood, and simply living all...
This past weekend, something incredible happened — something I am beyond honored, humbled, and honestly still squealing about.
The Lit Library won the “It’s Lit!” Literary Award for Best Bookish/Author Podcast!
Hosted by the amazing team at Black Girls Who Write and proudly sponsored by Spotify, this award celebrates the storytellers, creators, and community spaces making real impact in Black literature.
There are moments in an author’s journey that feel like a shift—like the ground moves just a little, and suddenly you can see the path ahead with new clarity, new purpose, and new joy. This past weekend was one of those moments for me.
I’m still sitting here, wide-eyed and honestly a little emotional, because Creative Differences, my one little novella that started as a spark in my heart, crossed 3,000+ orders during the Black Readers Appreciation Event (BRAE). Three. Thousand. Orders. I’m...
